After Cowboy Bebop aired it's final episode, Sunrise had already begun production on the Cowboy Bebop movie, "knockin' on heaven's door." Changing halfway in to become a 2 hour movie instead of the originally planned 90 minutes, (blog post) Cowboy Bebop strived to appeal to fans as well as newcomers.. but just how well was this balancing act pulled off?
