Should I watch Hatchet 3?

Hatchet 3: Hatchet 3 Horror Film is the third installment in the Hatchet film series. It tells the story of Victor Crowley, his murderous rampage through Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.



The practical effects in the film are the film's biggest strengths. Hatchet 3 is a horror movie that uses CG effects less than many other films. Hatchet 3 has a lot of practical makeup effects and sets, which results in some really horrific scenes throughout the film.

The cast gives a strong performance and Kane Hodder standing out as the most intimidating villain. The dialogue is reminiscent of an 1980s slasher film. It is witty and funny enough. There are also instances of humor throughout the film that add humor to all bloody action.



However, due to the limited budget (reportedly only $1 million) (blog) many locations used are repeats from earlier films in the series--the identical boat house was used two times within the movie and a lot of the film appears to be a re-use from previous films in the franchise. This can make it feel almost too familiar at times for those who have already watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2



Overall, Hatchet 3 was a excellent series overall. There were many gory moments, and there were several great performances by the actors.
