Seeing Hatchet 3

"Hatchet III," the horror film of 2013, continues the story about the vengeful ghost of Victor Crowley. Produced by BJ McDonnell, the film is the third and final installment of the Hatchet film series. Kane Hodder, Zach Galligan, as well as Danielle Harris star in this film.

The story follows the characters from the earlier films, who are pursued by Crowley and local hunter. Crowley's history and how the ghost became vengeful is also covered.

The crew and cast did a wonderful job bringing the characters into life. Kane Hodder, who played Crowley was a ferocious performance to the role. The aspects of the film that were scary were enhanced by the use of real-life special effects that brought the ghost to life.

Practical special effects are the main focus of the film. They add horror (blog post) elements to the movie. The pace of the film was flawless, keeping the audience on their toes.

The film's downsides are the fact that it follows the same plot in other films of the series. It was difficult to follow the story at times due to the complexity of the story.

Overall, I enjoyed Hatchet III although it was a rehash of the two previous entries within the Hatchet film franchise. Although the film was awe-inspiring in its visual effects and a pacing that was fast, it was not quite as engaging in terms of plot, or familiarity of the story. The film is worth watching for those who are fans of the show or enjoy slasher films.
