Hatchet 3 (2013) movie analysis (Decker Shado movie review)

"Hatchet III" (2013 horror film) continues the story of Victor Crowley the vengeful ghost. BJ McDonnell was the director, which is the third and last installment of the Hatchet film series. The film stars Danielle Harris, Kane Hodder as well as Zach Galligan.

The film's plot centers on the hunt for survivors of previous films by Crowley and other local hunters. The film also explores the backstory of Crowley and how he came to be the ghost of revenge.

The actors and crew brought their characters to life through amazing performances. Kane Hodder brought a strong performance to Crowley's role. The film's horror elements were enhanced by the impressive effects which made the ghost come to life.

One of the strengths of the movie was the use of practical special effects. They were done well and (blog post) enhanced the terror aspect. The film's pacing kept the audience on the edge of their seats too.

The downside of the film is that it follows a similar formula to the previous movies in the series, making it seem like a re-telling of the same plot. It was also difficult to follow the story at times due to the complexity of the story.

Overall, "Hatchet III" was an excellent film. It was essentially the same story as the previous two Hatchet films. While the film had strong visual effects and a pacing that was fast however, it wasn't as good in terms of plot, or the familiarity of the story. The film is worth watching if you're a fan of the series or slasher films.
