Jason X and space terror sequels

Sequels to horror films are almost always well received, and audiences eagerly anticipate the arrival of the genre's next really terrifying experience. However, what happens when the antagonists of horror movies go to outer space? The following are five horror movie villains that traveled to outer space. Some of them were successful, while others did not fare as well.

The Leprechaun

The weakest entry in the Leprechaun horror film series is Leprechaun 4: In Space. The fact that it is set in space is precisely what makes it so mind-numbingly fantastic. A fantastic illustration of how to take a completely ludicrous idea and make it into something really "unique" is in the movie Leprechaun 4. You'll laugh out loud at the movie's realistic effects, inventive killing techniques, and hilarious Leprechaun lines. Leprechaun 4: In Space is a must-see if you like the Leprechaun series or horror flicks in general.

Pinhead

Hellraiser: Bloodline is a prequel and sequel. Story covers 1700s, 1990s, and 2200s. Let's be honest: I'm just here for Pinhead and the other Cenobites. Doug Bradley maintains a cold, menacing, demonic air when he performs. This is confusing, but who cares? Even if you've watched Hellraiser, Bloodline's Pinhead moments are disturbing. If you loved Clive Barker's Hellraiser, you should read this. Even without any logic, it's a fun ride.

Critters

When I heard that Critters 4 would take place in space, I was interested. I mean, how could they top the Critters movies that came before? But when I looked at the cast list, it didn't look good. Dourif, Brad? Angela Bassett? And a well-known actor from Denmark named Anders Hove? I couldn't figure out how this would work.

And my concerns were verified when I eventually watched Critters 4. While the plot and characters weren't very memorable, it was an obvious rip-off of other popular series placed in an unpleasant locale. What truly hurts from a fan standpoint is that the very features that made the prior entries distinctive and enjoyable are either entirely stripped away or simply not there at all. Critters 4 is a terrible mess and a major letdown.

Dracula

Dracula 3000 is one of those rare awful horror movies that's so horrible it's virtually unwatchable. Dracula 3000 is one of my favorite films to despise. Even though it's horrible during its whole run time my primary problem is that the conclusion was a blatant cop-out leaving me absolutely unhappy . I had thought "Dracula in Space" would be so horrible it's fantastic, but instead it was so bad it was dreadful. The notion is entertaining, but the acting is awful, and the conversation is extremely unpleasant. I suggest seeing it if you want to feel unhappy the rest of the day.

Also, Coolio. It stars Coolio. Did I mention that?

Jason Voorhees

The most notorious horror movie sequel to take place in space is called "Jason X." Jason Voorhees is the real-life embodiment of the horror movie myth and legend. It doesn't matter how he got into space, but he did. Nobody really cares about the reason why he's in space. The only thing that counts is that Jason is out in space and ready to cause mayhem.

I think it's fun to watch Jason X for the Easter eggs and references to other Friday the 13th movies, as well as to see how he becomes Uber Jason.

Aficionados of campy, cheesy, and slasher flicks will like this movie a lot, even if it isn't everyone's cup of tea. This is a terrific one for the fans of horror movies.

Conclusion

Sequels to horror films may be VERY inconsistent. Some follow-up films, such as Leprechaun 4: In Space, take an absurd idea and make it into something extraordinary. Some of them, like Dracula 3000, are so awful (Leprechaun 4) that they're hard to watch. It's absolutely worth seeing some of the more notable horror movie sequels in space if you're a lover of the genre. Who knows, you may discover a new favorite slasher film.
