Dawn of the Planet of the Apes follows the newest reboot of the Planet of the Apes series, started with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Sure, Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes only had one movie to the series, but it still counts as a separate reboot. Either (blog post) way, Dawn follows a story similar to what we saw in Battle for the Planet of the Apes, science fiction movie which is interesting.. if they keep going this way, the next movie'll take place 2000 years in the future. I mean, I doubt that's what'll happen but I can dream.
