Leprechaun (1993) is an excellent horror flick

Leprechaun is one of those classic horror movies that is so bad that it's good. The story is crazy, the actors are over the top, and the special effects are so bad that they are laughable. But somehow, it all comes together to make a film that is fun and entertaining. As the leprechaun, Warwick Davis does a great job, and Jennifer Aniston is surprisingly good in her first movie role. If you like campy horror movies, you should definitely check out Leprechaun. Just don't go into this movie expecting to be scared. You're more likely to laugh than to scream.

Legendary status has been granted to Warwick Davis's depiction of an enraged leprechaun. The film's leprechaun believes a human family has stolen his pot of riches. Armed with all his wits and power, he sets out to track them down. However, the family is still on the lookout for the gold in an effort to appease the leprechaun and prevent any more harm from coming to them. Due in large part to Davis's terrifying and memorable performance, Leprechaun is often regarded as one of the finest examples of the horror film genre.

In what was supposed to be a more straightforward horror flick, Davis added some comedic touches as the Leprechaun.

J. D. Redding rents the O'Grady farmhouse with his daughter Tory ten years later. Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their dimwitted pal Ozzie Jones are repainting the farmhouse. Ozzie misidentifies the leprechaun as a youngster when inspecting the basement. By removing the old clover, he frees the leprechaun. Leprechaun explains to Ozzie that he is an Irish shoemaker who immigrated to America for money. Ozzie finds a rainbow and chases it in pursuit of a pot of riches after failing to persuade others that he spotted a leprechaun. Alex follows Ozzie because he is concerned about him. A bag containing 100 gold coins arrives in front of Ozzie. Ozzie studies the treasures and eats a coin, believing that it would heal his brain. They keep it hidden in an old well.

The farmhouse is being repainted by contract workers Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their dimwitted friend Ozzie Jones. While scouring the basement, Ozzie hears the leprechaun's cry for help and misidentifies him as a little child. By removing the old four-leaf clover from the box, he frees the leprechaun. Ozzie learns from the leprechaun that he is an Irish shoemaker who came to America in quest of his riches. Ozzie spots a rainbow and follows it in the hopes of finding a pot of gold after failing to convince the others that he had seen a leprechaun. Alex follows him because he is afraid Ozzie may hurt himself. A bag holding 100 gold coins appears before Ozzie by magic. They bury the riches in an ancient well after Ozzie investigates it and mistakenly swallows a coin in the hopes of healing Ozzie's brain.

The leprechaun on the farm pretends to be a cat and bites J. D.'s hand, injuring him, before leading him into a trap. At the hospital, where Tory and the others have taken him, the leprechaun is seen riding a tricycle. Alex and Ozzie proceed to a pawn shop to verify the gold's authenticity, but the leprechaun kills the shopkeeper, Joe, for stealing his gold, then escapes after polishing Joe's shoes. The leprechaun builds himself a go-kart and speeds back to the farm, only to be pulled over by the cops. The officer is pursued by the leprechaun into the forest, where the officer is shot and killed. The leprechaun goes back to the farmhouse and seeks for his treasure while polishing every shoe he sees. The group travels back to the farmhouse after leaving J. D. off at the hospital. When Nathan explores outdoors after finding it plundered, a leprechaun-set bear trap injures him. Outside, the throng assaults the leprechaun and beats him with rocks and clubs.

The leprechaun is shot many times when they discover a firearm in the home. When it doesn't work, they try to leave the property, but the leprechaun has destroyed the truck's engine. The leprechaun terrorizes the gang after smashing the vehicle with the go-kart until Ozzie admits that he and Alex discovered the pot of gold. The bag is retrieved from the well by Tory, who then offers it to the leprechaun. They go to the hospital, certain that the worst is past. The leprechaun realizes that he is missing the last coin that Ozzie ate as he counts his wealth. He threatens them, believing they have duped him, until Ozzie informs them that O'Grady had a stroke and was sent to a nursing facility. By hurling filthy shoes at the leprechaun, the gang diverts his attention, and the leprechaun is forced to go shine the shoes as Tory gets in her jeep and drives off. At the nursing home, the leprechaun acts like he is O'Grady. Tory is followed by the leprechaun to an elevator. As Tory runs away, the leprechaun throws (blog) O'Grady's bloody body down the elevator shaft. Before he dies, O'Grady tells her that the only way to kill the leprechaun is with a four-leaf clover, which grows in a big patch just outside the farm. Tory goes back to the farmhouse to look for a clover. The leprechaun attacks her, but Nathan and Ozzie come to her rescue. The leprechaun gets seriously hurt when he tries to get the last gold coin, which Ozzie admits he ate. Tory found a four-leaf clover, which Alex ties to a wad of gum and fires into the leprechaun's mouth. The leprechaun melts away before he can kill Ozzie. Even though the leprechaun's skeleton fell down the well, it gets out and says, "I want my gold." After Nathan gets the leprechaun to go back into the well, he lights both objects on fire with gasoline. When the police show up, Tory is reunited with her father, marries Nathan, and has a child with him. While the police look through the wreckage of the well, the leprechaun says he won't stop until he finds all of his money.
