The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island from The Asylum, released ironically at the same moment as Godzilla King of the Monsters is about an Island called Monster Island. Here a monster may have been discovered and is kind of the Island, the Monster Island.


This movie is about an asylum. Because it is so big, the budget was about equal to a large child's meal. It uses it wisely, focusing only on some human characters and keeping its big stars on one set. All their sequences can be shot during lunch. But, let's not forget, this is a (first post) kaiju movie and that is kind of how they go. So maybe The Asylum won’t do so terrible with it.
