Robocop is an inexcusable choice when discussing 1980s action flicks. Paul Verhoeven's Hollywood debut is one of the smartest, albeit blunt, satires of the 1980s. RoboCop was once dismissed as a fun action film, but the time has shown its value. While it may seem like an action film, here are Paul Verhoeven’s greatest works. Sometimes I want to smack younger me for not seeing this at the time, but I have to give it to Robocop for helping me tolerate graphic violence (website) on film, so it may have helped me go as far as I have.
