RoboCop movie

Robocop (1987), a violent, obscene, and schlocky movie, is described as violent, obscene. After being introduced, our Peter Weller-cast character is brutally blown to pieces by a gang of criminals. A vehicle explodes after the character has been wounded by poisonous materials. The car then kills the character. This violence isn’t gratuitous, however, as it interrelates with the story and subject. The future Detroit where Robocop is set is one in which crime is out of control and the police are unable to bring about order. A megacorporation has "partners" in law enforcement, using the crisis as an opportunity to (read more) create and sell new military equipment. The business will make it easy to clean the streets and open the door for the development a new, more luxurious part of the city.
